Saturday, March 21st, 2020 – No Regular Services

Dear Emmanuel Baptist Church family,

Sadly, now the Coronavirus has been confirmed in Baker County.

After much prayer, agony, and deliberation, as your pastor and members of our leadership team, we believe it is best for Emmanuel Baptist Church to move to an online worship service.

We will not gather for regular services until further notice. But, we will be seeing lots of each other because we will begin having online Sunday morning services via Live Stream tomorrow at 11 AM!

Please pray and gather your family to worship through Live Stream on our website or Facebook page.

I’ll be sending more helpful information so we can stay connected and united as a church family during this very challenging and changing time.

As you pastor, please know that I love you and I am praying for you. Thank you for your prayers for me and my family as well!

I look forward to worshiping with you online tomorrow at 11 AM!

Pastor Mike

Thursday, March 19th, 2020 – Our Five-Point Plan for Ministry at EBC!

The coronavirus has caused us to reevaluate and reinvent how we will do ministry at EBC!  Our utmost concern is to be faithful to Jesus and our responsibilities to accomplish our mission and vision, while continuing to maintain a healthy and safe worship environment for all our church family! Here is our Five-Point plan for ministry at EBC!

  • As your pastor I want you to know that I love you and your safety and health is very important to me! As we follow Jesus we will be “The Church” during this difficult, scary, and unique time. We will stay in contact through e-mail, video, Facebook posts, texts, phone calls, and visits as needed or requested. And we will gather for worship on Sundays and Wednesdays as outline above until further notice!
  • Please know that I, and the EBC staff and leaders will be working hard and smart for Jesus and our church family.  I am available to meet you at the church office or in your home as requested. And remember, you have your church directory to use to stay in contact as well.  You can also call or text Miss Lesia if you have a prayer chain request.  It is an honor to lift your burdens and requests before the Lord!

  • Sunday Morning: We will be having one Sunday morning service at 11:00 a.m.We are making this service available online. We will still have nursery available and children’s church.Regarding children’s church for our older children (1st-6th grade), we are asking that you drop off and pick up children at the teen building. They will not gather and then be dismissed as usual from the auditorium.Drop off and pick up of the younger will remain the same.
  • Sunday Evening: We will be cancelling our Sunday evening services until further notice.
  • Wednesday Evening: We will continue to have our 7:00 p.m. Adult Bible study and beginning April 1 we will have our Wednesday teen gathering as well at 7:00 p.m. Awana will not begin until further notice. The Adult Bible study will also be available online through livestream on our website and our Facebook page.

  • The building will undergo a complete cleaning and disinfecting process every week prior to the Sunday morning service as well as the Wednesday evening service.
  • We are spacing out the auditorium chairs and rows to provide more personal space.
  • We will not be passing the offering plates as usual; they will be available in the back of the auditorium.  Simply drop your offering in the plates on your way in or out or you can also mail them or give online.
  • Bulletins will be placed on the chairs in the auditorium to eliminate personal contact.

  • We are asking those in attendance to fellowship from afar.  No handshaking and hugging please—holy waves and smiles are acceptable.
  • We ask that if you have a preexisting health condition, or any cold or flu symptoms, or do not feel well, please remain at home and worship and watch our service online.
  • If you are elderly and do not feel comfortable gathering for worship, we completely understand.  Please stay home, hunker down and be safe. We do not want anyone to risk their health.  Should you need anything, please don’t hesitate to me, a deacon, a ministry leader, or our office.

  • Let’s continue being faithful to tithe and give! Miss Lesia, our church secretary, is here Monday for offering drop off should you want to do that.  Because her Monday hours change, please text or call to be certain she will be available during the time you plan to arrive.  You can also mail your tithes and offerings (12286 N CR 23-A, Macclenny, 32063) or give online at click on the give online menu.  As you understand, it is imperative that we meet all of our financial obligations, including our missionaries!

If you have any questions, please contact us. All services will be live-streamed through our website and Facebook page, so you can worship at home with your family if need be!

Obviously, we understand this is a fluid situation.  We will continue to monitor and make adjustments or changes as the need arises.

Remember, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (II Timothy 1:7).  The days we are living can be the most exciting to follow Jesus faithfully, ministering to each other, and reaching out to a lost and dying world who needs Christ and the salvation He freely offers!

Let’s be the church,
Pastor Mike

Wednesday, March 17th, 2020 – Wednesday Ministry @ EBC!

God blessed our Sunday worship services at EBC! No matter what, we choose to trust God and do the most good!

What’s happening this Wednesday at EBC? Change is happening in our country, state, and county! Baker County schools are now on spring break. Here is a quote from our school superintendent, Sherrie Raulerson, “By declaration of Governor DeSantis and the Commissioner of Education, Richard Corcoran, all Florida schools have been mandated to close for the next two weeks as a result of concerns relative to the COVID-19 virus. Baker County Public Schools will be closed beginning Monday, March 16, 2020 – Friday, March 27, 2020. This will replace spring break, which was previously scheduled for Monday, April 13, 2020 – Friday, April 17, 2020. During this period of closure, all district buildings will be deep cleaned with anti-viral cleaning agents.
Due to the Baker county school directives and the spring break change for our kids and teens we will NOT be having teen or kids ministry this Wednesday, March 18, or next Wednesday, March 25.We WILL have an Adult Bible Study, on Wednesday, March 18 and March 25 at 7:00 p.m.  Dr. Shoemaker will continue his study called, America’s Cultural Crisis. Plan to join us!The coronavirus is causing us to reevaluate how we do ministry at EBC.  As your pastor I want you to know how very important it is that we continue ministering to our church family and community effectively.Within the next few days we will have a plan for the immediate future and the long term, if necessary, regarding our worship services and overall ministry of the church.  Please continue to pray with us as grow together in Christ, during this challenging and exciting time.Trusting God and doing good,Pastor Mike

Friday, March 14th, 2020 – Let’s live by faith not in fear!

Addressing the Coronavirus (COVID-19) at EBC:

“Make sure you wash off your fellowship!”  Have you given that good advice to a family member after a church service? Well, now more than ever the good advice your mom shared (and still shares) has become a must. Although the corona virus seems to be keeping its distance from us here in Baker county, you can rest assured that EBC will take necessary precautions to help promote a healthy and safe worship environment as we gather on Sundays and Wednesdays!

What will we do to promote a healthy environment?

  • We will ensure that our public areas are sanitized by wiping down doorknobs and surfaces with necessary disinfectants.
  • We will stay informed about any updates of the virus and or directives given by our local leaders and will give updates as needed.
  • We ask all those who have cold or flu symptoms, as always, to stay home and watch the service online via live stream (website or Facebook).
  • We will be respectful of people’s private space by giving a wave not a handshake. (We will not have fellowship time during the service as well.)

Let me encourage you as the Apostle Paul did to Timothy, his friend and fellow preacher of the Gospel in 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind!”

Let me encourage you, don’t live in fear, join me and be faithful to gather for worship and be in your place of service this Sunday and Wednesday.  Be ready to express the love of Christ to others around you in your EBC family.  And above all, just use good sound thinking and common sense as we come together!

And of course, let’s pray for God’s grace and mercy on our church, community, nation, and world as we live mindful that the COVID-19 exists and that our God is able to provide all we need to grow together in Him in the days ahead!

Looking forward to seeing you this Sunday,

Your pastor,
Mike Ramondetta
